With the semester coming to a close, we are saying goodbye to the school year and celebrating two years of growth. Since our start in Spring 2016 we have grown from 8 to 50 interns! Not only have our number of interns grown, but also our clientele. We currently have 14 different clients that our interns are placed with both on and off campus. The ability to work with a diverse group of clients has given our interns a well-rounded and unique experience!
Even with our continuing growth, there are many that do not know what the ATLAS Internship Program is. We are an internship program on campus that gives LAS undergrads the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with technology in practical settings before they graduate. Our goal is to help students in LAS integrate knowledge in their course of study with technology to help gain a more versatile skill set. The projects and type of technology used varies by intern, and we take in interns with little to high technological skills. Most of our interns are either paid or receive course credit for their internship. In fact, since Fall 2017, we have doubled the amount of paid positions!
With more than 170 applicants for summer and fall internships, and hope to expand our intern team to 100 by the fall, ATLAS will continue to grow exponentially.
